The Origin Story: From the Bronx to the Markets

Masters Born Academy was founded on the belief that financial freedom is attainable for anyone with the right mindset, discipline, and education. Our founder’s journey is a testament to that principle.

Kelvin Franco, better known as Moody Bugz, was born to Dominican parents who migrated to the Bronx, New York, chasing the American dream.

However, life was anything but easy. By the time he was 11, his family had moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he quickly realized that survival meant hustle. At 14, he wasn’t just trying to make extra money-he was building his entrepreneurial mindset. He sold candy, clothes, and anything he knew people wanted, flipping items for a profit. In addition, he developed Instagram pages and sold them, while also cutting grass, knocking on doors, picking up leaves in the fall-whatever it took to create opportunity.

At 19, life took an even harder turn. Homeless in the Bronx, Kelvin faced a pivotal moment-stay in struggle, or make a change. He chose to fight for his future. Making the right decisions, he returned home to Atlanta, Georgia, determined to rebuild his life. Then came a spark—a curiosity about the stock market. Despite having no financial background, he took a leap and made his first investment. What started as a gamble turned into an obsession. He spent sleepless nights absorbing market trends, testing strategies, and seeking out mentors. His relentless drive turned knowledge into power. By January 21, 2021, he was all in-fully committed to day trading. Within just 60 days, he transformed a small account into six figures, walking away from grueling warehouse shifts and stepping into a future he built himself.

By 28, he wasn’t just financially free-he had found his true calling: lifting others up. Trading had given him a life he never thought possible, yet he knew firsthand that success was about more than just making money. It was about breaking cycles, rewriting narratives, and showing others the way forward.
