If you have looked up a member's username on the #launchpass channel using the "whois" command and the bot returns "undefined", it's because that member hasn't yet activated or claimed their account.

The member can use the "Generate a New Invite" link found in their welcome email and message the activation code to the LaunchPass Bot in order to activate their account.
