I'm willing to bet that I'm in every filmmaking facebook group you are a member of. Why am I in so many? They all are kinda the same. They have good intentions, but then someone asks a question that seems innocent enough but it sets off a flame war about cameras, software, or the most dangerous territory of them all rates. then the old heads are raging about _"newcomers are ruining our industry, its impossible to make a living blah blah vomit"

_Rough Cuts is the opposite of that, which is hopefully what you are looking for. It is about building community.

Rough Cuts provides a home to the filmmaking community. A place for peer review, education and mentorship where people gain experience together on both paid work and passion projects. We’re an incubator of talented filmmakers offering ways to collaborate and build trust in the community.
